JOB OPENING - Deputy Marshal
The Village of Magdalena is accepting applications for a Full-Time Certified or Non-Certified Deputy Marshal. Benefits begin immediately with a competitive salary. Non-Certified must complete the Law Enforcement Academy within the first year of employment. We are looking for outstanding individuals for this position. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent; candidates will need to pass a written exam, a physical agility test, a post-offer pre-employment physical, psychological and vision examination; and candidates must pass a drug screening. Non-certified candidates must complete the requirements of the Law Enforcement Academy within 12 months after being employed. Certified candidates receive a $4,000 bonus payable after completing two years of satisfactory employment. Certified Deputies may be promoted to Marshal as vacancies permit. A scenic work environment under basic supervision, serves and protects citizens and property, and preserves the peace in the Village of Magdalena through the patrolling of assigned areas, monitoring traffic, impartial enforcement of laws, detaining and interviewing violators, apprehension of suspects, service of civil process, court security and responding to calls for assistance and performs other duties as assigned.

VILLAGE OF MAGDALENA - JOB DESCRIPTON
JOINT UTILITY MANAGER - PUBLIC WORKS/FULL-TIME
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Five-Seven years of experience in a position in public works, construction, or civil engineering with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity or a combination of education and experience.
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Possession of Level II Water Systems and Wastewater Systems Certification within 3 years of employment in this position.
- Must attend training and obtain a Level II Water Systems and Wastewater Systems Certification within 3 years of employment in this position.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of water production, wastewater collection and water treatment.
- Considerable knowledge of the materials and supplies used in water and wastewater operations.
- Considerable knowledge of the equipment, materials and supplies used to maintain streets and roads
- Considerable knowledge of the equipment, materials and supplies used to collect solid waste
- Working knowledge of applicable state and federal health and environment regulations and safety requirements
- Experience in scheduling and directing the work of others, in the preparation of reports and in establishing and maintaining a record keeping system for personnel, equipment and supplies/materials
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of MS Office applications.
- Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds
Supervised By: Mayor or his/her designee
Supervises: Joint workers and custodian
PAY RANGE: Grade J with Level 1 certification in Water and Wastewater Systems, Grade K with Level II certification in Water and Wastewater Systems contingent upon appropriation by the Board.
Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. 5 p.m. or as determined by supervisor
Lunch Hour: one hour (flexible)+
POSITION GOAL: Oversees the operation and maintenance of water production and treatment facilities, operation and maintenance of wastewater collection systems, operations and management of solid waste collection program, maintenance and improvement of streets, and grounds maintenance of village property.
